What We Believe

"What comes into our minds when we think about God is the most important thing about us." - A.W. Tozer

Statement of Faith

The Bible
The sixty-six books of the Old and New Testaments are the inspired Word of God and our final authority for faith, doctrine, and Christian living. We seek to understand and follow Scripture faithfully, placing God's Word above traditions, experiences, culture, and human opinion.
Psalm 119:105; John 17:17; 2 Timothy 3:16–17; 2 Peter 1:20–21

 Father, Son, and Holy Spirit
There is one eternal God—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—three Persons, fully divine and perfectly united. Father, Son, and Spirit were all present and active in creation. Jesus Christ, fully God and fully man, lived without sin, died for our sins, rose bodily from the dead, and will return in glory. The Holy Spirit lives within believers, guides us, changes us, and empowers us to follow Christ.
 Genesis 1:1–2, 26; Matthew 28:19; John 1:1–3, 14; 1 Corinthians 15:3–4

Salvation and Christian Living
Salvation is God's gift of grace, received through repentance and faith in Jesus Christ, not earned by good works or human effort. Those who trust in Christ receive forgiveness and eternal life and are called to grow in faith through God's Word, prayer, worship, fellowship, obedience, love, holiness, and dependence upon the Holy Spirit.
 John 3:16; Romans 10:9–13; Ephesians 2:8–10; Romans 12:1–2

 The Church
The Church is not a building, pastor, staff, or program; it is the people of God (the body of Christ) with Jesus as its Head. Every believer is needed, valued, and called to participate. Leaders equip God's people, while the whole Church shares in worship, ministry, fellowship, caring for one another, sharing the gospel, and making disciples.
 Acts 2:42–47; 1 Corinthians 12:12–27; Ephesians 4:11–16

Baptism and Communion
Jesus gave baptism and the Lord's Supper to His Church. Baptism publicly identifies a believer with Christ and His death, burial, and resurrection. Communion remembers Christ's sacrifice, celebrates our fellowship in Him, and looks forward to His return. Both are acts of faith and obedience.
 Matthew 28:19–20; Romans 6:3–4; Luke 22:19–20; 1 Corinthians 11:23–26

 Spiritual Gifts
All spiritual gifts described in Scripture remain available to the Church today and are given by the Holy Spirit as He chooses. Not everyone receives the same gifts, and no single gift is required of every believer. Spiritual gifts should be used with love, humility, wisdom, accountability, and biblical order to strengthen the Church and bring glory to Christ.
 Romans 12:3–8; 1 Corinthians 12:4–11; 1 Corinthians 14:26–40; 1 Peter 4:10–11

 Marriage and Family
God created humanity male and female and established marriage as the union of one man and one woman, with sexual intimacy reserved for marriage. We seek to faithfully follow God's design for marriage and family while treating every person with dignity, compassion, patience, and love and extending the grace and mercy of Jesus Christ to all.
Genesis 1:27; Genesis 2:18–24; Matthew 19:4–6; 1 Corinthians 6:18–20

Humanity and the Sanctity of Life
Every person is created in God's image and has God-given dignity and value, yet all have sinned and need God's grace. Human life is sacred at every age and stage, from the womb to the tomb. We seek to value, protect, serve, and support people throughout life, especially children, families, the disabled, the vulnerable, the sick, and the elderly.
Genesis 1:26–27; Psalm 139:13–16; Romans 3:23; Matthew 25:35–40

Service and Community
Following the example of Jesus, Christians are called to serve others with compassion, generosity, and humility. We seek to care for those in need, support families, help our neighbors, serve our community, and use our time, abilities, and resources for the good of others. We encourage believers to be responsible citizens and a positive influence in society, while remembering that our highest allegiance is always to God and His Word.
Jeremiah 29:7; Matthew 5:13–16; Mark 10:45; Galatians 5:13; Galatians 6:10

Mission and Unity
Jesus calls His Church to share the gospel and make disciples of all nations. All who genuinely trust in Christ are members of His body, even when we differ on secondary doctrines, traditions, or politics. We seek to serve together with biblical conviction, humility, grace, patience, and love, keeping Jesus and the gospel at the center of our fellowship.
Matthew 28:18–20; John 17:20–23; Romans 14:1–4; Ephesians 4:1–6

Christ's Return and Eternity
Jesus Christ will personally and visibly return in power and glory, and all people will face final judgment. There will be everlasting life for those who belong to Christ and eternal judgment for those separated from Him. God will ultimately defeat sin, suffering, death, and evil and dwell forever with His redeemed people.
John 14:1–3; John 5:28–29; Revelation 20:11–15; Revelation 21:1–5
